Keiki Maui

Introduction

Keiki Maui is a community-based, social impact initiative created to bring comfort, joy, and resources to the more than 3,000 children who survived the devastating Maui Fires of 2023. Keiki means child in Hawaiian, and this long-term, grassroots effort provides survivor families with toys, monetary gifts, meaningful experiences, and gift cards to help restore a sense of normalcy and joy. Launched in December 2023, Keiki Maui started as an event and is envisioned as a “forever project”—a continuing call to action for anyone wishing to contribute to Maui’s recovery. Supporters can attend or donate to future fundraisers.

RESULTS More than $50,000 in cash donations, along with additional in-kind gifts, helped provide presents for over 2,000 children and their families affected by the natural disasters in Hawaii. The gifts were distributed at a holiday event held at Maui Nui Botanical Gardens.
