Creative engagement in the political process.
Black Voter Registration Day
A community event put on by the A.M.E. Church (the church and civil rights hub of Dr. King) and 20 other black social justice, and media organizations in Georgia. Sigla worked under the direction of Rep. Rhonda Taylor and Hype Magazine, to amplify this cause and event. Purpose: to educate and activate black voters in Georgia to officially register for the 2024 Presidential Election. The 3-poster campaign utilized original illustrations to showcase creative engagement in the political process: A ballot box on legs, a ballot box with a fist breaking through the box, and a replica of the Freedom March poster, circa 1963. Protecting our right to vote starts with registering and making black voting accessible, understandable and counted.
