The sun set on Nov. 5th and miraculously rose again on Nov. 6th. People walked their dogs, jogged, and bought groceries as if nothing had happened. But the entire world tilted on its axis in one day. After a week of grief and confusion, we got our heads around reorienting into a new reality and future administration. This is not acceptance; it’s assessing where we are so we can decide what to do next. This is planning.

We appreciate the differing opinions about mixing business and politics in this LinkedIn arena. Let’s not kid ourselves: the new administration will touch every part of our lives: government, industry, trade, healthcare, immigration, LBGTQ and women’s rights and more than we can fit here. We got swamped: making sure we were syncing with all the good people and organizations we didn’t know yet, fighting for justice, and showing up for allies. We checked our passports, bank accounts, and our beloveds.

Most people who know us at Sigla Creative know we are social impact creatives and activists. We were wiped out after volunteering on GOTV and Voter Suppression campaigns for 3 months. Many others gave much more (looking at you Erin Gallagher + @HypeWomenforHarris).

This week has been brutal. However, the conversations and willingness to connect with other social justice and social impact activists were the most healing. What we are sure of is that there is no limit to what creative thinkers can do to slay dragons. We are here for it. We loathe bullies, and will always stand up for anyone oppressed, marginalized, or mistreated. And as exhausted as we are, and as much as we want to storm off and give up, we won’t quit. ‘Anger is an energy,’ to quote Johnny Rotten of the legendary Sex Pistols. We plan on using our anger to correct some wrongs.

Our commitment to social impact post-election is unwavering. We’re here to support justice and stand up for those marginalized, no matter the challenges ahead. We are looking forward to working with and meeting more social impact ass-kickers out there. We love you. Thank you for everything you did, and will do. So it shall be, or better.
